Things you need to know! Or the post with all the youtube links :)
Hi all!
So if you missed coming to youth group yesterday you missed out on a pretty epic pillow fight…and a pretty unepic capture the pillow! (note to self: capture the pillow does not work when you have a tiny narrow hallway to divide sides)
This is pretty cool though: 600 Pillows shall we recreate this at youth group?

We also talked about Cain and Abel. The main point of this lesson was “bringing God our best” and what that looks like. I had some sweet beats dropped for me by Mikey L. as I rapped the story.
No one was impressed 🙂 So instead check out the original man himself… Francis Chan rap (shout out to Leia…Francis Chan was trying to get on Lecrae’s album)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhRPGC7qi_g&feature=related
And while you are at it check out Lecrae cause he is pretty awesome!

So here is the really important information you need to know!
Monadnock is coming!!!! (a little over a month) so I need your moneys and permission slips.
So by next sunday Jan. 16th have everything in. If you need permission slips you can find them under the permission slips tab.

Mission Trip: Indian Bible College. Flagstaff, AZ If you are coming on this trip you must pass in a deposit of $50 and application (which you can find under permission slip) by January 23rd
As of right now it is looking like this trip will probably cost around $200.00 per person (Which is a sweet deal) But in order for this to happen we need to fund raise, fund raise, fund raise!!! (that reminds me of the Sunday, Sunday, Sunday commercial)
So first fundraiser will be a Pancake Breakfast! Yumm….
January 29th @ 8:00am-11:00am
I’ve got tickets for you to sell at $5 a piece.
Last Announcement: There will be not Youth Group next Sunday because of the Annual Meeting so maybe you all can organize a Mulan viewing for that night since you all want to watch it so bad… and here is yet another link for your viewing pleasure 🙂 Enjoy!

You all are great! Keep Shining for Jesus

p.s. I am reading through my Bible in a year and I am taking part in reading the book of Proverbs throughout the year… I will be dedicating some of these posts to these projects 🙂
Anyone want to join me??
This is the new year!
Today is January 6, 2011! This is weird to me because it does not feel like we should be in a new year. Looking through pictures from youth group this time last year made me realize how quickly 2010 happened. Here are some highlights from 2010:
1. Oreo and Peanut butter Sculptor Night:
(And in case you wondering, YES they did have to eat these to win the challenge)
2. Wacky Utensil Dinner/ Goldfish drinking competition
(No goldfish were harmed in the playing of this game…sort of)
3. So we went to this thing called Snow Camp last year and as we were leaving…an epic snowball fight broke out. No snowmen survived.
Below is a link to our lesson on Sunday. But you must watch this video first before you open the Power point.

5 Days Till Christmas!!!!
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love gave to me…5 golden platters of cookies 🙂
Well maybe that’s not actually accurate: This is how it actually went down.
This guy Dan came up with a great service idea where we baked lots of cookies and delivered them to three families/individuals in the church! It was an awesome time. And a great story came out of it.

Do you all want to hear the story: Well here it goes.
Let me set up the scenario. Picture with me a fireplace, some yummy cocoa, and two very sweet individuals as precious as can be. Alright, now that you’ve got it. Here is the story:
There once was two very sweet people who were neighbors. In the 1950’s they attended prom together. Then they went on to date and marry other people. And about 40 years later they had both lost their significant others and were shopping at Walmart! She was in the automotive section and he recognized her immediately. They talked, shared stories, and went their separate ways. But were shortly reunited a few months later. He spotted her as he rode by on his motorcycle and stopped to chat and asked her if she would like to accompany him to his high school reunion. She thought about it, asked her family, then responded with a yes! And they have been together ever since, traveling the country, making memories, and being the sweet individuals they are. And the moral of the story my friends is: You can find anything at walmart!
Great job to everyone and their baking skills! It is always nice to give back and bless others on Christmas 🙂
So here is what is coming up in the next few weeks:

9 Days Till Christmas!!!
And so the countdown to Christmas starts: are you ready?
I am not. I don’t know where this year went? But what I can tell you is that it was a great year!
And to commemorate this year we are having an end of the year banquet. Catered by drum role please……Riccardi’s! Can anyone say Lasagna! Yum!

Also THIS SUNDAY December 19th we are taking place in Elevate Serves!
Congrats to Dan Saunders who won a $25 giftcard to IHOP for coming up with our project. We will be delivering cookies and blessing three families in the church! In order to make this possible everyone needs to bring a dozen cookies with them to youth group Sunday! Tis the season to bless those around us with the love of Christ and cookies 🙂
And last but not least…. HIP HOP CONCERT FRIDAY (as in tomorrow). I am excited. Sure to be a good time!
Peace and Blessings Friends!
Christmas Time is Near!

Dearest Elevators: Tomorrow is December!!!! How crazy is that? I can’t believe it myself. But I do love Christmas and don’t mind starting the festivities early!
Speaking of festivities we took a trip to Edaville on the 21st and had a blast! Here are a few pictures of the night
YAY CHRISTMAS
Elevate Serves December 19th
*to the tune of Jingle Bells
Dashing through Southcoast
In a 15 passenger van
O’er the streets we go
Dancing all the way (dance, dance, dance, dance, party, party, party, party)
Bells on Bob’s shoes ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to laugh and sing
As Elevate serves tonight
Oh,Elevate Serves, Elevate Serves
On December 19th
Oh, what will we do
please tell me
only you’ll decide..Hey!
Elevate Serves, Elevate Serves
On December 19th
Oh, what will we do
please tell me
Only you’ll decide
A day or two ago
I realized it was cold
I couldn’t believe my eyes
There was some frosty snow
I turned on 93.3
And heard Christmas tunes play
looked at my calendar and thought
December is on its way… YAY!
Elevate Serves, Elevate Serves
On December 19th
Oh, what will we do
please tell me
only you’ll decide
Elevate Serves, Elevate Serves
On December 19th
Oh, what will we do
please tell me
Only you’ll decide
Cha Cha Cha!

Dare to Make Your Life Count!
Hey all! Just wanted to give you an update on what we’ve been talking about and some cool events that are happening soon!
We had a really great lesson yesterday (Sunday Nov. 7th on Happiness and Relationships) Why we do things for others even when we know it is against God’s will for our lives. We read through Judges 16 and discussed the story of Samson and Delilah. Later on Baby Glove led us in an intense games of ULTIMATE DODGEBALL!
Good Times!
Our challenge this week was to reevaluate our relationships with others and ask these five questions:
1.) Identify the five people that are the most meaningful to you (parents, friends, teachers, that special someone* You know who)
2.) How much do you seek this person’ s approval?
3.) Does this person help or hinder your relationship with God?
4.) Should this relationship grow, decrease, stop, or stay the same?
5.) How can you do this?
